Coming at us from every angle, we are constantly inundated with promises. Whether it’s an ad on social media, a carefully worded email, or the pitch of a coach who swears they’ve “cracked the code,” it seems as though every product or service is marketed as the magic solution to our problems. They tell us they can fix our businesses, save us time, make us money, and transform our lives. But more often than not, those promises come up short to say the least! (Has anyone ever made 7 figures in 10 days following a ‘simple strategy’ 😂)
This isn’t just an occasional frustration; I actually think it’s a systemic problem. Too many businesses prioritise bold claims over meaningful delivery. They draw us in with flashy guarantees but fail to follow through. Like so many other business owners, I’ve been on the receiving end of this. I’ve invested significant time and money into coaches, products, and services that promised the world but delivered little more than disappointment. As if starting your own business isn’t tough enough, the last thing we need is being constantly on guard for duplicitous and unscrupulous so called ‘support’.
I am someone who inherently likes to help, make other people's lives easier and see them succeed. This has often resulted in people taking advantage, it’s not just the financial loss that stings, it’s the emotional toll and the wasted time. As entrepreneurs, we pour so much into our businesses. Every investment we make represents hope: hope that we’re taking the next big step forward, hope that we’re getting closer to our goals, hope that we’ve finally found the help we need. When those investments fail to deliver, it feels personal. It feels like we’ve been duped, like we’ve wasted resources we couldn’t afford to lose.
This problem is far-reaching. Many of us spend hours chasing solutions that don’t work. We’re told to post endlessly on social media, hoping our followers will suddenly become paying customers. We’re encouraged to message strangers on LinkedIn or Instagram, only to face silence—or worse, outright rejection. We pour money into advertising, only to realise too late that there’s no system in place to nurture the leads we’ve paid to attract.
The result? Businesses fail. Owners feel stuck, frustrated, and exhausted. The dream of running a successful, thriving business starts to feel like an uphill battle, and the trust we once had in ourselves and others begins to erode.
But here’s what I think. I think the root of the issue lies in a culture that prioritises quick wins over long-term relationships. In a world driven by sales targets and conversion rates, many businesses focus on making the sale rather than delivering value. Once they’ve secured your payment, their job is done. You’re left to fend for yourself with a subpar product, generic advice, or a service that doesn’t align with your specific needs. It’s like buying a beautifully wrapped gift, only to find the box is empty. And the worst part? The cycle repeats itself. Once burned, we become hesitant to trust again, but we still need solutions. So we cautiously dip our toes back in, hoping that this time will be different. Sometimes it is—but far too often, it’s not.
This approach to business isn’t just unethical; it’s unsustainable. Companies that operate this way may see short-term profits, but they miss out on something far more valuable: loyalty. A happy customer is worth their weight in gold. They come back time and time again, recommend your services to others, and become champions for your brand. But that kind of loyalty only comes when businesses deliver on their promises—and then some.
Whatever happened to honesty, transparency, and integrity in business? These values shouldn’t be relics of the past. They should be the foundation on which every business is built. Yet, in a marketplace saturated with hype and hyperbole, they’re becoming harder to find. Integrity isn’t just about doing the right thing because it’s ethical. It’s also good business sense. A company that prioritises its customers’ success over its own bottom line will always come out ahead in the long run. Why? Because people remember how they’re treated. They remember when a business genuinely listens, delivers value, and stands by its promises.
After experiencing the disappointment of empty promises time and again, I made a decision: I would do things differently. When I founded My Biz Solution, I wanted it to be a business that prioritised honesty, transparency, and real value above all else. No gimmicks or quick fixes. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions because I know every business is unique. Instead, I focus on providing tailored strategies and tools that address the specific challenges my clients face.
My goal isn’t just to make a sale. It’s to build partnerships. When I work with a client, I’m committed to their success. I want them to feel supported, understood, and confident in the solutions I provide. That means being honest about what’s possible, setting realistic expectations, and delivering results that speak for themselves. Whether it’s helping a business automate their processes to save time, streamlining their marketing efforts for better results, or creating systems that generate consistent growth, I approach every project with one question in mind: How can I make life easier for this client?
Imagine a world where every business operated with integrity...
Where every product or service did exactly what it claimed to do...
Where every investment you made brought you closer to your goals instead of leaving you frustrated and drained…
Wishful thinking I know, but this is the kind of business I’m committed to building. I want my clients to feel confident in their investments, knowing they’re getting real solutions that make a tangible difference.
I must point out that not everyone I have invested in has been a waste, and I know many good business owners who are trying to stay true to their morals and values. But, the fact that competition is so fierce in some industries, really pushes these boundaries. It just appears that sometimes, honesty over wild claims doesn't in fact work in the madness of marketing.
I'd love to hear your opinions, thoughts and experiences whether you agree with me or not. Maybe your reading this as an employee working for someone who’s approach doesn’t sit well with you?
The world of business doesn’t have to be filled with empty promises. Together, we can create something better. Something real. And that’s a promise I’ll always keep.
